i figured i'd share this with my fellow don fans. tonight, my friends and i decided to go out in the country and watch the meteor shower. it was like crystal clear skies with stars everywhere. we smoked some good herb and chilled, but the highlight of the night was on the way home. we were driving on the highway alone and in the mountains. to the right of us was a local marina, and a clear sky. we had the czar blaring loud on the stereo. during the solo, while looking over the water, i saw a shooting star. i was so stoned, the music was sounding so great and the imagery was beautiful. it was surreal. mastodon just goes so good with things.

My best friend had a similar thing happen recently. He was driving down the Mass Pike heading home from URI on a gray gloomy day last Sunday. If anyone knows the Mass pike it can actually be quite scenic on a nice day, mountains everywhere, at one point you are 7,000 feet above sea level, rolling valleys you can see for miles. So it was gloomy and rainy, and he said he smoked a fat joint to his head for the ride.

I get two voice mails from him, sounding really high. The first one he " heard a beep " gets all confused saying WHAT THE FUCK and hangs up...made me laugh. The second he tells the story. DUDE I'M SO HIGH AND LISTENING TO MASTODON AND...

Apparently as he was heading down a mountain listening to the czar the skies cleared, and he could see the mist and clouds moving up and away from him down a long valley, as the rays of sunlight poked through the clouds.

Sounded like a cool moment. He said the three hour car trip passed like it was 20 minutes long.

haha that's awesome. When me and Devilock were going to see Mastodon in Boston we were on the masspike and it was raining heavy as hell. We could barely see. We had CTS playing the whole time and as we reach the end of The Last Baron, when it goes back into the calm intro and eventually the solo, it randomly cleared up. It was right at the beginning of the solo section, and i was a bit high and it blew my mind so hard. It was like a religious experience haha


Oh and as we entered the highway last night, during the heavy part of the czar a huge extremely bright meteor went right infront of us. It was nuts

I was listening to The Czar the other day whilst taking a leak and suddenly without warning my dick-lips opened and I finally passed that gall stone thats been bothering me for so long!
It so was majestic! It can be equated to a religious experience.

And at the same time my dog Whimpers had a litter of puppies! Which can be equated to passing stones... Coincidence.... I think not. MASTADON=GOD.

haha nice. i saw mastodon a few times when they were in the area 2 weeks back and each trip required nice, long blunt rides on the mass pike smack in the middle of october. beautiful scenery, and knowing i was on my way to see the don certainly added to it.

I was riding shot gun on the way to the show in Toronto with my buddy and as I was packing a bowl while in traffic. I guess an accident happened about 30 feet in front of us, so, were sitting there dead in traffic, blaring Ghost of Karelia. Not only did I realize the chugging riff at like, 2:10 in the song is one of the fucking heaviest riffs on the album, but three cop cars were 2 car lengths ahead of us. Smoke was pouring out of our windows, we were blaring the fuck out of Mastodon and pretty much screaming the lyrics, I can't believe we didn't get arrested.
