Had a look for the old topic with everybody's Mastodon tattoo's being posted, but couldn't find it, so I thought I'd just create a new one to show you guys my unfinished Mastodon/Paul Romano-influenced tattoo! Enjoy...

I see what you did there. Who's doing the tattooing for you?

A guy called Patrick and myself designed and worked out the tattoo together. He works from home in South Africa. I've gotten all my tattoo's done by him.

I think what you are talking about is the shading that we're adding to the face. We're gonna make it look like a face in the end, with all the features of a normal face done in shading. Cannot wait to finish it.




Well, got the flower from Blood Mountain done above the Mastodon skull & face. Did the flower in black, red, yellow & green. With my own version of 'March Of The Fire Ants' above that!

That sounds badass man. I'm thinking of getting something don on my for my tattoo. I'm just not too sure what yet. Maybe the Buddhist type thing in the Blood Mountain album booklet.

Gonna do a Call Of The Mastodon meets Remission meets Leviathan meets Blood Mountain meets Crack The Skye album cover type tat! But with my own style/artwork in the mix. Need to see what the CtS album looks like.

Yeah, the ants do look funny, but that's what I was going for. Didn't want it to be too detailed, so I went for the standard flame effect with some ants marching along. If you see both my legs next to each other they make sense.

So finally April has come and gone, so it was time for me to get some new ink done to my 'Don / Romano influenced leg sock.

Here is a rough edit of my leg sock so far, hope you can all see the detail within it.

I highly suggest that you apply this to your leg two times daily for three weeks....

That's sweet dude! I want to get the same exact thing tattooed on me, but in a different spot. Possibly on my bicep or somewhere on my leg, and eventually expand around it with more music related tats
