I don't really like the title but hey the album might be good. Im looking forward to it.

Ridner
should be a good one if Hanneman is helping w/ the writing more again
manfish
It's a good title and better than the last one.
Madden

Terrible title imo, but that doesn't mean the album will be bad. We shall have to wait and see.

Psychopathy Red!

If all the songs are like this, it's gonna be a sick album.

both of which are Jeff Hanneman-penned tunes

It is guaranteed to be two good songs then.

Although I love Slayer and have all their albums (even Undisputed Attitude), I've found every album after Seasons to be an anticlimax. Sure, there've been the odd track here and there that I like, but none of the albums have grabbed me like the old stuff.

I just can't put my figure on why either...

favorite band of all time. i-am-pumped !!!

It's probably the intensity, especially when you see them live. When I went to the Unholy Alliance III, I must confess I only really wanted to see Mastodon. I'd forgotten how good they could be live, and seeing them again, they were bloody brilliant; just as awesome as they were when I saw them for the first time in 1994.
Madden
They are pretty intense, but Tom Araya just steals the show for me. That loveable silver fox.

smile.gif Agreed, Hanneman and King haven't aged well, they do look somewhat hefty nowadays...

I liked Christ Illusion alot more than most of their later albums. I don't like Diabolous in Musica much at all, but I do enjoy Divine Intervention quite a bit. God Hates us All sounds so derivitive it just doesn't excite me, although I sometimes wonder what I'd think of it if I didn't have Seasons or Reign in Blood to compare it too.

Also I don't like the title World Painted Blood either because of the fact they already have an album called Reign in Blood -- and with two albums with such similar wording it almost makes the later title sound like the name of a Best-Of or Live album rather than a stand-alone addition to thier catalog.

I might be alone here, but I actually like alot of thier slower stuff too and wouldn't mind more focus on slow and creepy a la songs like Dead Skin Mask, Seasons in the Abyss and Gemini etc. So many of these 80's bands seem to think the only way to excite modern audiences is to prove they've 'still got it' by trying to go faster/louder/meaner. I think they sometimes forget that subtle and powerful can still be relevant and proof of writing skill.

They're all fatties now except for Dave... But that's because he's got that drummer fitness thing going on! Yea, Tom, Kerry, and Jeff just drink too damn much!

P.S. I pretty much hated Christ Illusion! Best song on there was Jihad!
Astro Zombie
Slayer fucking slays.

Yeah, I agree, I thought Christ Illusion was over hyped. The only song I thought was much cop was 'Supremist'.

Oh and here's quite a cool interview with one of the heffers and the silver fox \m/

See I think Divine Intervention is an awesome album and probably the best of the post Lombardo albums, including Christ Illusion.
kerzain
I think it's time we start rating Slayer albums on a 1 to 10 scale.
Ridner
I dig all of Slayer's stuff. Christ Illusion isn't the greatest thing they have done, but I hardly think it sucks. God Hates Us All was totally kickass. My fav post Lombardo album is definitely Divine Intervention - I can listen to that CD everyday and it doesn't get old. I am excited to hear the new one. Psychopathy Red is a nice old school feeling song - hope the rest of the album follows suit.
Astro Zombie
speaking of new album...

You're welcome
DamageInc
fuck yeah i was wondering when it would leak. thank you

Death Magnetic > World Painted Blood

oh, I see, like this

St. Anger>God Hates Us All

It makes sense now!

Ol'e Nessie
Slayer after around 1990 is a joke.
DamageInc
This album ain't that bad. I enjoyed a majority of it, but Hate Worldwide sucked. The lyrics were so cheesy it's ridiculous.

The beginning of Americon sounds a bit like War, Wisdom and Rhyme by Baroness. It made me lol a little

this isn't /mu/ dumbass.

And if you actually feel like that Jeff Hanneman should cut your balls off and feed them to one of Kerry's snakes.

What the fuck are you talking about?

All I'm saying is that I think all of their albums after Seasons are terrible.
kerzain
Christ Illusion, Divine Intervention, Undisputed Attitude are all worth the money. Only parts of god Hates us all and Diabolus en Music pay off though.

Madden
Undisputed Attitude is a musthave if you aare in any way a fan of Slayer or crossover thrash in general.
HERP DERP
Might go see them at manchester. Probably get the shit kicked out of me though.

Sometimes being this good looking is a curse.
Dillinger

They should have called it something like Dale Winton Rim Job for that to be the case.

Wow, giving Dale a rimmer would be like tonguing a can of Cuprinol.
Dillinger

At least your tongue could withstand all of the elements of nature.

True.

This is really solid album, I like it. But guitars sound flat like thin paper. Fidelman fucked up 2 albums now, fuck him. My fovourite tracks are Playing With Dolls, Human Strain and Snuff.

My rating 8/10

Murder is my future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
