I know this is also a really bad plug but I thought I would lob it in as its a win win situtation but if any of you or you know anyone who is looking to buy tickets for sonisphere then if they use this code where it says FMC then we both get free stuff! 1k910185
The tickets now don't have a booking fee, I think there is a free bus from certain cities and also you can order it with Guitar Hero Metallica (if you want too).

I'm so keen to go to this year's festival. If the wife and myself do end up buying tickets we'll definitely add the code to our order Laura.
Some of the bands on the bill I couldn't care less about seeing and I've seen Metallica twice now, so I think that I can not be asked to sit through 2 hours of them live again. I know people will hate me for saying this, but hey... Everybody to their own, right!
I definitely want to see Mastodon perform 'Emerald' live!
I'm keen to see the following bands;

2nd Stage:Airbourne

Yeah but after Killing Joke. Its quantity of followers not quality of acts. Its the way the music industry works.

Had one of the best weekends ever.

A BOY thrown from a fairground ride at the Sonisphere Festival is recovering in hospital.
The teenager, who is from Hertfordshire, was catapulted from the ride and into a row of portable toilets in the grounds of Knebworth House, where the heavy metal festival was taking place.
The 14-year-old - not 15, as was first thought - was rushed to the Lister Hospital with "life-threatening" chest injuries.
He had also injured a wrist and ankle in the freak accident, at 2.30pm on Saturday.
His condition today (Monday) was described as stable.
A police spokeswoman said the accident had been passed to the Health and Safety Executive to investigate.

And who was in the band?

Did they do The Emerald?
No Lizzy, no Emerald.
However, finally I happened to see them with a decent sound - surprisingly awesome in fact. The band were on fire, the set-list was brilliant, Blood Mountain got somehow forgotten about - my wishful thinking would suggest more Remission tunes but still...and Crack the Skye is soooo epic when played live... Unbelievable...

How was Killing Joke?
And who was in the band?
Fucking huge, heavier than the name it self. Classic line-up - Jaz, Geordie, Youth, Paul Ferguson...and some guy on the keys. The best I've seen from them...ever...

Am still recovering from a mental weekend, had a great time. Highlights for me were
Airbourne - holy fucking shit, what a show. Band of the weekend, hands down. Pissing down with rain, but no one cared. Throwing beer into the crowd, drinking JD, climbing the lighting rig. That is one hell of a frontman. Dismiss them as AC/DC copyists, but they've got the songs too
Mastodon - durrr. Was hungover to the point of death, but managed to watch their set before sleeping where I fell
Killing Joke - heavy as fuck, played exclusively old stuff (Wardance, Requiem, Love Like Blood, Eighties plus a couple more). Crowd didn't know who they were, unsurprisingly
Metallica - first time I'd seen them live strangely, really enjoyed them
Alice in Chains - 2nd best band of the weekend. The new singer they've got in was spot on
Blaas of Glory - if you don't know who I mean by that, youtube them! Fucking hilarious

I didnt see AIC but I was shocked at how much their singer sounds like Layne Staley. They sounded really impressive!

OK, that's a lie, I did see them do that secret gig in the tent at Download 2003. This was the first time I'd seen them do a full show. Never been enough of a fan to make an effort to see them live.

I just find it hard to believe that with all the metal festivals you go to, this is the first time you've seen them headline.

Hmmm, I know what you mean. Have been to Download 3 times. Reading 7 times…but it's never coincided with Metallica playing
