Karilla

Fluffy

no disrespect but they should just let brann and troy handle vox

brent is tone deaf...he is an incredible songwriter and guitarist (and i'm sure great guy) but he sounds like a cartoon character

that's also the gayest 'pit' i have ever seen. where is the maypole?
Yalo

Yeah, that is pretty cool. I wonder where he got the clip from. If he has the full show that would be rad to get, especially if it's in a DVD format. Has anyone contacted him to find out if there is more? I'll do it after tonight if no one has already.

Newfie_Metal
Excellent quality, nice post.
glutius

of course there is, but to say a professional musician has it, well that is a bit silly of course

I usually use in-ears, but we couldn't afford to ship our whole system over to Japan, therefore I had to just roll out there with the monitors, which is always exciting with no soundcheck and a monitor engineer you haven't even met yet.
This show was a little stressful because our gear almost didn't make it. It arrived five minutes before we took the stage. Luckily everything went off without a hitch.

On another note, we just returned from L.A. where we were working on the Jonah Hex score. I think the movie will be pretty Badass from what we saw, and we're really excited about the music we were able to come up with, usually in the middle of a touring cycle you don't get the opportunity to be creative, so to be able to be in a studio creating new music every day was a more than welcomed breath of fresh air. Hope you guys are all doing great and I hope to see you out there on tour in the next couple of months.

Sincerely,
Your fan,
Brann

Oh lawdy, Brent's vocals are all over the place. Otherwise it's all great, but Brent really should be used to singing this song by now. He's just all over the place. God damn.
Tw1ster
I think it was a great performance. Brent sounded spot on during the last chorus, I think he just doesn't know how loud he's singing sometimes but it was an awesome showing. Can't wait to see them again in Vancouver, maybe this time I wont freeze up if I meet them again haha-
PowerSlave
Fucking eh man. I can't wait to finally see you guys in Toronto on the 23rd.
Newfie_Metal
I wish I could make it to a show this year, damn living on this island!

Haha Awesome! How the hell did they manage to get all the gear up in such short time? And I just have to ask, did you play the entire set without any earprotection??

Thank you for the music and thank you for taking the time to visit the board!

they got good at singing oblivion. i think brent sounds fine. it's usually troy having a hard time with those high notes. great video

Troy's gotten much better, and Brann seems a lot more confident singing live, but Brent has gotten worse if anything. Actually, that's not true. He is just scattered. I've seen some vids where he's amazing and some where he's all over the place. This just happens to be one of the latter.
d3vil0ck
god damn, awesome performance. can't wait to see them next month.
Palehorse
I love Mastodon and all, but goddamn the vocals are getting embarrassing. The look Troy shoots Brent at 2:48 of Oblivion pretty much sums it up.
zombies & sunshine
ha, i loved that, it looked like he was ready to walk over and cuff him one.
glutius
the fill at 8:56! holy shit
radu123
wait i just listened to it, for what it's worth, brent sounded pretty good i thought
Gana
I liked a lot brent's performance in this video, vocalwise. He's singing like the record in some parts, on others he's improvising, and although he doesn't hit the notes so easily like a professional singer, he makes harmonies that work together with Troy's vocals.
