The new album has leaked, i'm sure most of you will hear it in the coming days, share your thoughts/opinions here. Right off the bat i'll say All Secrets Known is one of the best openers i've heard a long time, definitely has that Dirt feel to it. So far after the first listen the title track, all secrets known, last of my kind and acid bubble give me the best vibes.

Haven't heard it but I got tickets for their Brum show.

nope

Especially considering AIC has been culturally insignificant for over ten years now and should be considered Alice in One Chain without Layne.

Not buying the album and not supporting their tour. I'm more than satisfied with their 90s output. Don't need to really hear them in their 40s.

anyone that insists on the bullshit 'without layne, it's not AIC anymore' argument is an absolute idiot. the music on the new album is crushingly beautiful, and the new singer's voice works just as well with jerry's as layne's did.

fucking excellent album, kicks the shit out of a lot of what they put out years ago.

laugh.gif Troy is 36 and Brann is 34. Fuck their music, don't need to really hear them in their 30s. Or Opeth... Or Meshuggah.. or Frank Sinatra... or a lot of other bands.

Jerry Cantrell was the genious behind AIC in the first place. Layne was just the voice.

I don't consider myself as an idiot on music, and I'm sure most of us here are well versed, but tastes to differ.

I can tell you that Jerry's solo material never did it for me and the reason wasn't because Sean or Mike were missing from the band (Hell, I think on of them even played on his solo albums; it was Layne.

True, although it lacks any significant, memorable melody such as Man In The Box, Them Bones or Would - signature AIC tracks...

No, it doesn't.

Layne only was half of the voice in fact.

The new album sounds sorta 'meh' to me, but I saw them live on Saturday and they did a hell of a great job. I think the new vocalist really holds his own and has great stage presence, and his voice fits in the live music superbly.

Album came out today. I really like it. Sounds a little like a combination between the s/t and Jerry's solo work.

just dont really care about them since layne is gone.

i'm going to retract that statement. after a few listens, i'm pretty bored of the album, a couple songs stand out hugely, but it's kind of a big blur of sameness. ah well.
