Found a pretty recent interview of Dan from Bison BC. Not only is it a pretty awesome interview, but he mentions at the very end that they're taking off from touring for the rest of the year to finish their new album that they're halfway through writing. He claims they'll record it and "start all over again in the spring" which makes me feel like he's hoping to have it released sometime in the early spring.

I am stoked. Along with new High on Fire, this will be one of my most anticipated releases of 2010.
jroy99
Should be awesome. I would expect nothing less from these guys.

Naked Ahab
Fucking awesome.

To bad they had to cancel the Chicago show. We did get to hang out for an hour while Dan got new Emperor cabinets.

If this band were so concerned about the progression between the albuns as Mastodon is, they could seriously become one of the finest bands in the world.

Well judging by the transition from Earthbound to Quiet Earth alone, I'd say they're progressing pretty nicely. Quiet Earth had some more complex song structures and some progressive-type flourishes like the occasional string instruments, so I'd hope the next one continues to push some more boundaries.
pelliottnthunder
Looks like they're going for a vintage nu metal sound this time around:

That is amazing.
zombies & sunshine
amazing. best part is, if you were at the show and drunk/high enough, you might've mistaken the clown paint for corpsepaint and thought they were just going as a black metal band.
Dooblers Mom
My buddy just started managing them and had to turn down a cool tour for Dec. because the band will stil be in the studio. I would say a April or May release is likely.
itwasme
Oh my god, those juggalo pics are amazing. That is hilarious.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Egads, any word on a specific release date?
Dooblers Mom
not yet, but hopefully soon. I would still guess March or April

Dan said that they just finished recording it. I think that recording was delayed do to a problem with James's wrist and hand.

Jeez, that sucks. Hope that doesn't come back to bite him in the ass any more. He's a pretty killer guitarist.

Also, 8 minutes of pure metal? I am quite excited. Let's hope this thing comes out soon. This and the new HoF are my most awaited albums of 2010 so far.

UPDATE, sorta:

Their MySpace says they'll be adding new tour dates soon. While that is cool enough as it is (I sure hope they come around here), it also means that some more info on the new album can't be too far behind. I wouldn't be surprised if they start playing a new song or two on this tour.

With any luck, they'll come to Asheville. Dan said in a tour blog that they thought it was an awesome town, so hopefully they'll book a gig at the Orange Peel. I am dying to see them live.
Starxgamer12
They couldn't be headlining? Are they big enough to headline? Who would they tour with?

But then again GOATWHORE.
zombies & sunshine
well, at least i'll be able to get home somewhat early after seeing them if they're opening...shadows fall is just horrible. guh.
pelliottnthunder
Seriously Astro? Is that the Canada tour?

<3 Goatwhore + Bison BC at least. Shadows Fall is... all right.
Astro Zombie
I'm srs. You should know, the internet is srs bsns.
pelliottnthunder
Always, now more than ever, is the internet srs bsns.

Looks like Goatwhore drops off the tour before it reaches Montreal which would be my best shot at this tour... sad face.

Hope the US tour is good and gets its ass up to Higher Ground.
itwasme
Ugh. Shadows Fall? They're very bland. Oh well, at least I have friends who listen to them who will probably accompany me to any local gig. I really want to see Bison.

Damn, between this and the Mastodon/BtBaM/Valient Thorr/Baroness tour, I might just get a chance to see all of my faves this year.

So according to this press release I found on Zoroaster's MySpace (which also mentions that Zoroaster's new album is due this summer), the new Bison album will be called Dark Ages. Haven't seen anything else to confirm this, but hopefully we'll hear some more news soon cuz it says it'll be out this spring.

http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseact...logId=528979359

EDIT: Did some more research and found other sites repeating the news about the album title. Including the PRP which claims it comes out April 13. I am excited. This and the new HoF will likely be fighting for dominance in my CD player very soon.

Went to the Calgary show last night. Fuckin amazing. Talked to James before the show and he confirmed the new album is called Dark Ages and will be out April 13. They had a pretty short set but they played some new songs and they sounded amazing. More technical and lots of tempo changes. Can't fuckin' wait for the new album!

Fuckin' A! That sounds awesome. Hope some videos surface on YouTube sooner or later, cuz I can't see 'em when they come by here. Still good to know that in a little over a month we'll have some new Bison tunes.

EDIT: So Wikipedia claims a song title is supposed to be Wendigo Pt. 3. I dunno' if there's any confirmation on this, but that sounds awesome to me. My favorite songs on Quiet Earth were the two Wendigo songs.

MAJOR UPDATE:

As we know, "Dark Ages" by Bison BC will be released on April 13th. On Blabbermouth today they have revealed the tracklisting as well as the album artwork. For your convenience, here is the link to the original article: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...wsitemID=136222

And here's the info:

1. Stressed Elephant
2. Fear Cave
3. Melody, This Is For You
4. Two-Day Booze
5. Die of Devotion
6. Take the Next Exit
7. Wendigo Pt. 3 (Let Him Burn)

So I'm stoked. Interesting song titles and a bitchin' old-school cover. Stressed Elephant will be released in a week, so that'll be cool too.
pelliottnthunder
FUCK Wendigo Pt. 3?! This is going to be TREMENDOUS
Face of Oblivion
This is the most exciting news I could get all day! I really wish I didn't live upstate and I could make the NYC show w/ HoF. Fuck!

Can't wait to hear the first song off this album in a week...
jroy99
I absolutely cannot wait for this record, especially after hearing predominantly new shit at the show (the only old songs they played were Primal Emptiness and Wendigo Pt. 1). Wasn't planning on staying for Shadows Fall and after Bison tore the roof off the place that only cemented my decision. These guys fucking rule and if you have not yet seen Bison live, you are in for a treat.
